8X10 Tintype in glass mirror frame
Description
Wetplate Collodion process on aluminum (1/1) unique original works (8X10 inch) Tintype in glass mirror frame Artist: Bill Hao
that due to the different expansion coefficients of aluminum and glass, this work’s protective layers may show a small amount of cracks and dust, but you will hardly notice it, please see video, this is the reson for lower price. please understand that the wet plate collodion process is a pure handmade process, so no piece is 100% perfect.
Please note: the original works have much more sharp and details than you see them in a digital image, because Wetplate process is direct photography by camera, didn’t enlarge or print.
The Wetplate original works can’t be scanned because it is on glass and very reflective, so I have to use a digital camera for get the digital image, but the modern camera lens is much bad than my lens that is I use for my Wetplate camera, Most of my lenses were produced in the early 20th century or even in the 19th century. The some glass used back then is no longer available today.
